It grows on forest margins or hillside grasslands, mostly at lower altitudes, but it can also grow at altitudes of 2000 to 2200 meters in the southwestern mountainous areas. It likes warmth and sunshine, is resistant to drought and cold, and is not strict with soil requirements. It can be cultivated on dry land on hillsides to be fertile and loose.
