Description

Seed treatment and germination: Purchased seeds are generally stripped of the outer seed coat. Soak the seeds with warm water at about 40°C, twice the amount of the seeds, and add suitable systemic fungicides, such as carbendazim, to prevent disease infection. After 24 hours, remove the seeds, rinse them with clean water, and soak them in water at room temperature for 24 hours. After that, the seeds can be sown for germination. Seed beds should be selected in a ventilated, clean, well-drained location, preferably in a greenhouse. The substrate is preferably clean coarse sand. First level the seeding bed, then spread it with 20 cm thick clean river sand, water it thoroughly, and then place the seeds on it, with an interval of 2-3 cm between each seed, and then cover with a layer of sand, with a thickness of about 4 cm . Finally, water with a fine-tipped watering can.

Management of the germination process: directly related to the success or failure of seedlings. In addition to regular watering to keep the seeds moist, the germination of the seeds must also be checked regularly. Initially, check every 10 days. After 20 days, check every 5 days. Once it is found that the seed hole begins to show white, immediately pick it out and move it into a suitable container to raise seedlings. The seeds that are not white are put back to their original place and continue to be managed by germination. If the sprouted seeds are not taken out in time, their primary roots will quickly grow downward and penetrate deeply into the subsoil of the seeding bed. At this point, if you want to transplant it into a pot (bag), you have to be very careful and dig it up slowly. Otherwise, the primary roots are easily broken. Germination process, but also to prevent rodents.
