Description

Black pine (Pinus thunbergii Parl.) is a plant of the Pinus family and the genus Pinus. Also known as the white bud pine, it is an evergreen tree with a height of 30 meters and a gray-black tree belt. It blooms in April with single flowers. Female peanuts are purple at the top of new buds, and most of the seed scales (carpels) are arranged in a spherical shape. When mature, most of the pollen drifts out with the wind. The cones are formed in the autumn of the following year, the scales are split and the seeds are scattered, and the seeds have thin wings. The umbilicus of the fruit scale has short spines. It is native to Japan and the southern coast of Korea.
