Sow immediately after harvesting. The thickness of the covering soil is about twice the diameter of the seed. Keep it moist and the seedlings can emerge in 2-3 months. The seedling stage needs to increase air humidity and shade.
The suitable growth temperature of fishtail sunflower is 15-25 ℃. In tropical southern China, it can be cultivated in the open field and overwintered outdoors. In northern China, the temperature is low in winter, so it should be placed in a greenhouse for overwintering. If the family has heating conditions, it can be placed indoors for overwintering. The temperature should be kept above 10°C, and sufficient light should be given. The minimum temperature should not be lower than 5°C. Long-term low temperature and insufficient light, the leaves will be frost-damaged and blackened. When outdoors in summer, apply 50%-70% shading net for shade, or place it in a shady or shaded place under a big tree. In the hot sun, or in direct sunlight, the leaves will turn yellow.
