Description
Durian (scientific name: Durio zibethinus Murr) is a giant tropical evergreen tree of the order Malvaceae and Bombaxaceae. It has long round leaves, sharp tips, cymes, light yellow flowers, football-sized fruits, solid skins and dense triangular thorns. The pulp is composed of aril meat packs. The flesh is light yellow, viscous and juicy. It is a fruit of great economic value.
Durian is one of the famous tropical fruits, native to Malaysia. Some countries in Southeast Asia are more planted, of which Thailand is the most. It is also grown in Guangdong and Hainan, China. There is an attached legend that during the Ming Dynasty in ancient China, when the sailing fleet arrived in Southeast Asia and tasted the local specialty fruits, Zheng He greatly admired the fruit. However, the fruit can only be ripened once a year, so the name is nostalgic, and future generations will take it. Its homophonic, called durian
