Description
Elaeocarpus decipiens(scientific name: Elaeocarpus decipiens Hemsl.), also known as false red bayberry, plum rubbed rice, green fruit, wild olive, bile eight trees, olive, marginal petal Du Ying.
Du Ying Ke Du Ying is an evergreen tree, up to 15 meters high, leathery leaves, lanceolate or oblanceolate, with small blunt teeth on the edges; petioles have micro-hairs at the beginning and become bald when they are knotted. Racemes are mostly found in leaf axils, inflorescence shafts are slender, flowers are white, sepals are lanceolate, petals are obovate, no appendages at the top of anthers; drupe is elliptical, exocarp is glabrous, endocarp is hard and bony, flowering June-July.
Du Ying is an evergreen fast-growing tree species with good texture, strong adaptability, and less pests and diseases. It is an excellent variety for garden viewing and greening around. Distributed in Guangxi, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Zhejiang; Vietnam, in the low mountain valley forest. The seed oil can be used as soap and lubricating oil; the bark can be used for dyeing.
