Description
Euonymus maackii(scientific name: Euonymus maackii Rupr.) is a small tree of the Euonymus family, up to 6 meters high. The leaves are oval, oval or narrowly elliptical, 4--8 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, apex is long and acuminate, base is broadly wedge-shaped or nearly round, with finely serrated edges, sometimes extremely deep and sharp ; Petiole is usually slender, but sometimes shorter. Flowers pale green or yellow-green, about 8 mm in diameter; small pedicels 2.5-4 mm long; stamens anthers are purple-red, filaments are slender. The capsule is rounded and heart-shaped, and the mature skin is pink; the seeds are oblong, the seed coat is brownish-yellow, the aril is orange-red, the whole seed is full, and the tip often has a small mouth after maturity.
The production area is vast, starting from Heilongjiang in the north, including the provinces and regions of North China and Inner Mongolia, to the provinces and regions on the south bank of the Yangtze River in the south, and to Gansu in the west. Except for Shaanxi, Southwest and Guangdong and Guangxi, which are not found in the wild, they are found in other provinces, but the south of the Yangtze River is often cultivated. Distributed in the Ussuri region, southern Siberia and the Korean peninsula.
