Description
Saponaria is one of the peculiar hematoxylin tree species in my country. It should be scabbard-shaped, slightly curved, 100-400 mm long, 40 mm wide, and 10-15 mm thick. The surface is reddish brown, covered with gray powder frost, and the seeds are raised. Both ends are slightly pointed, and the base is gradually narrow and curved, with short fruit stalks or fruit stalk marks, and obvious longitudinal ridges on both sides. Most species, flat oval, yellowish brown, smooth. Hard quality. Slightly odorous, pungent, spicy. The intact spines are often branched and sometimes branched again. The thorns are sharp-pointed, and the base is flat cylindrical, with a total length of about 10 cm or longer, and a base diameter of 0.8 to 1.2 cm. The surface is purple-brown or red-brown. Light body, hard in quality, yellow-white wood in the cut surface, loose pith, brown, odorless, and light in taste. Habits: It likes light and is slightly tolerant to shade, likes warm and humid climate and fertile soil, but also tolerates cold and drought, and has no strict requirements on the soil.
