Description
Michelia macclurei (scientific name: Michelia macclurei Dandy): tree, up to 30 meters in height, about 1 meter in diameter at breast height; the bark is off-white, smooth and not cracked; buds, twigs, petioles, stipules and pedicels are closely adhered and shiny red Brown short down. The leaves are leathery, obovate, elliptical and obovate, with pubescent hair on the top, and glabrous hair later, and gray hairs mixed with brown flat short hairs on the bottom. The flower buds are sometimes wrapped with 2-3 small flower buds on different nodes to form 2-3 cymes. The tepals are white, usually 9 pieces, spoon-shaped obovate or oblanceolate; follicles are oblong, obovate and oblong. Body shape or obovate; seeds 1-3, oblate ovoid. Flowering period from March to April, fruiting period from September to November.
Born in dense forests at an altitude of 500-1 000 meters. It is produced in southeastern Guangdong, Hainan, and northwestern Guangxi, and also distributed in northern Vietnam. Introduced and cultivated in southern Hunan
