Description
Purple leaf pickled plum (scientific name: Padus virginiana'Canada Red') is a cultivated species of Rosaceae and the genus Padus virginiana. It is a deciduous tree with a height of up to 15 meters. The leaves are green and shiny at the beginning and turn red after autumn. Throughout the growing season, the leaf discoloration period is longer. Flowers white. The fruit is spherical, large, purple-black when mature, blooms from the end of April to mid-May, and bears fruit from July to August.
The purple leaf pickled plum is native to North America. It has been introduced in Northeast China, Hebei, Shanxi and other places. It is an important color-leaf tree species in northern China. Happy light, in a semi-shade growing environment, the leaves rarely turn purple-red. Purple leaf pickled plum grows vigorously on sandy loam soil with a moist, fertile, loose, well-drained pH value of 6-8.
The purple-leafed cherry tree is beautifully planted in parks, offices, street gardens, and residential quarters. It is planted in solitary, opposite, or clustered ways, whether it is a single natural scattered planting, or a single, regular, and natural piece of planting or in combination with other plants. Mixed planting in front of and behind the house, lawn, riverside, and beside the rocks can enrich the landscape level, guide people's vision, divide the landscape space and obstruct the view.
