Description
Pinus tabuliformis Carr. (scientific name: Pinus tabuliformis Carr.): It is a coniferous evergreen tree of the Pinus family, 25 meters high and 1 meter in diameter at breast height. The lower part of the bark is grayish brown, cracked into irregular scales. Large branches spread out or obliquely upward [13], old trees have flat tops; branchlets are sturdy, male cone-shaped, 1.2-1.8 cm long, clustered on the lower part of new branches and are spike-shaped; cones are ovoid or ovoid, 4-7 long centimeter. The seed is 6-8 mm long, and the wings are 1.5-2.0 cm long, and the wings are 2-3 times the seed length. Flowering in May, the cones mature in early and mid-October the following year.
It is a positive tree species, deep-rooted, light-loving, barren-resistant, and wind-resistant. It can grow on deep, well-drained acid, neutral or calcareous loess, and can grow at temperatures of -25°C. The heartwood is yellowish reddish brown, the sapwood is yellowish white, the texture is straight, the structure is finer, the material is harder, and it is durable. It can be used as materials for construction, electric poles, mining pillars, shipbuilding, appliances, furniture and wood fiber industries.
