Description
Red fescue (scientific name: Festuca rubra L.) is a perennial herb of the family Gramineae, a subgenus of fescue, sparsely or densely clustered, with upright culms, glabrous, up to 70 cm high, rough leaf sheath, truncated tongue, and leaf blade Folded or curled inward, thin and flat, blooming, rough branches, light green or dark purple spikelets, smooth or slightly rough backs of glumes, narrow membranous edges, first glume narrow lanceolate, second glume broadly draped Needle-shaped, the back of the lemma is smooth or rough or hairy, the lemma is nearly as long as the lemma, and it blooms and bears fruit from June to September.
Distributed in China's Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang, Qinghai and most parts of Southwest and Central China. It is also distributed in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere. It grows on hillside grasslands, alpine meadows, river beaches, roadsides, shrubs, forests, etc. at an altitude of 600-4500 meters.
Festuca arundinacea can make full use of weak light, and there are many clusters of leaves, and the greening effect is good.
