Description

1. soil preparation
Choose the moist, loose and fertile yellow sandy soil in the valley or under the forest, plough the soil 20-25cm deep in autumn, and apply 3,000-5,000 kg of decomposed manure or compost per mu in combination with soil preparation, and turn it into the soil as base fertilizer. Before planting, shallow plough once more. Then, finely raked and flattened into a high border or flat border with a width of 1.2m, and opened drainage ditches around it, and the border surface was in the shape of a turtle back.

2. Tuber reproduction
After harvesting the tubers from September to October, choose small tubers that are robust, intact, and free from pests and diseases, and store them in the cellar for planting after drying. The depth of the digging pit is about 1.5m, and the size depends on how many are planted. The temperature in the pit should be kept at about 5-10 °C. Below 5°C, it is susceptible to freezing damage; if it is higher than 10°C, it is easy to germinate early. Usually taken out and planted in the spring of the following year. It can also be planted in autumn before freezing. For spring planting, in late March to early April, on the prepared border, dig holes with a row spacing of 20-25cm and a plant spacing of 14-16cm, with a hole depth of 4-6cm. Then, put the bud head up and put it into the hole, 1 piece per hole. After planting, cover the soil with miscellaneous fertilizer and fine soil, and water it once permeable if it is dry. About half a month or so, the seedlings can emerge, and the large tubers can be used for planting. It can be cut in half or several pieces. As long as each piece has a strong bud head, it can be used for planting. However, after cutting, the wound should be mixed with plant ash in time to avoid decay. Small tubers and tubers after cutting should be planted with shallow soil cover; large tubers should be deep. 80 kg of tubers are required for large planting per acre.

3. Seed propagation
The seeds of Arranthaceae mature in the first ten days of August. After the red berries are collected, they are washed in clean water to remove the pulp, and the seeds are removed for autumn sowing immediately. On the seedbed, dig shallow trenches with a row spacing of 15-20cm, and evenly sow the seeds into the trenches, covering the soil flush with the border surface. After sowing, pour water once, and keep the bed soil moist after sowing, and seedlings can emerge in about 10 days. In winter, use manure to cover the border surface to keep warm and moisturizing, which is beneficial for seedlings to survive the winter. After the seedlings are unearthed in the spring of the following year, the manure is pressed into the seedbed as fertilizer. When the height of the seedlings is 6-9cm, the seedlings are fixed according to the plant spacing of 12-15cm. Excess seedlings can be transplanted separately.

4. Transplanting
In spring from April to early May, when the seedlings are 6-9cm tall, choose a cloudy day, and transplant the healthy seedlings with a little soil mass, and transplant them in the field according to the row spacing of 20 × 15cm. After planting, water the root water once to facilitate survival
