Foxglove, scientific name
Digitalis purpurea, is a classic biennial cottage garden flower with reliable germination rate. It tolerates partial shade well and thrives in loose, fertile, well-drained humus soil.
Upright tall stems bear dense racemes of tubular bell flowers in purple, pink, white and spotted varieties, forming stunning vertical landscape layers in the garden with a long flowering period in early summer.
Note: The whole plant is toxic, keep away from children and livestock. It has good disease resistance, only need regular watering during dry periods. Perfect for garden background border, woodland understory landscaping, natural wildflower meadow and large courtyard ornamental planting.
