Candytuft, scientific name
Iberis sempervirens, is an evergreen hardy perennial flower with reliable germination rate and great cold and drought tolerance. It requires full sun and well-drained sandy soil to avoid root rot caused by waterlogging.
It grows in compact low clumps. In spring, the whole bush is covered with masses of pure white small cross-shaped flowers, forming a snow-like blanket effect. Evergreen foliage keeps ornamental value all year round.
Low maintenance, resistant to most common diseases and insects. Prune lightly after flowering to keep bushy shape. Perfect for rock garden collocation, garden border edging, slope greening, ground cover and small balcony potted ornamental planting.
