Lampranthus is a perennial succulent ice plant with stable seed germination rate and super strong drought resistance. It requires sufficient full sunlight and gritty well-drained soil, and cannot stand long-term waterlogged soil which easily causes root rot. The plant grows in trailing clumps with thick fleshy leaves, and bursts into large quantities of bright daisy-like flowers in warm seasons under strong sunshine, showing gorgeous red, orange, pink and purple colors. Blossoms only open on sunny days and close in cloudy weather, with unique ornamental features. It needs very little daily care, tolerates barren soil and high temperature, has few pest issues. It is widely used for rock garden decoration, slope greening, courtyard ground cover, hanging baskets and balcony potted ornamental planting.
