Long bean is a productive warm-season climbing legume with stable germination rate and fast growing speed. It requires full sunlight, fertile loose well-drained soil and warm weather for best growth. The vines need stakes, fences or trellises to climb upward, which helps improve ventilation and reduce fruit rot. The extra-long tender pods are crisp and delicious, commonly used for stir-frying, braising and pickling in daily home cooking.
