Towel gourd, also named luffa, is a popular warm-season climbing vegetable with stable germination rate and rapid growth speed. It needs full sunlight, fertile loose well-drained soil and warm climate conditions. The vine will stretch quickly and must be equipped with supports, fences or trellises for upward climbing growth. Young tender fruits are fresh and tender, commonly used for stir-frying, soup boiling and daily home cooking. If left to fully ripen and dry, the fibrous inner sponge can be used as cleaning scrubbers. This variety has strong heat resistance, few management difficulties, only regular watering and occasional fertilizing required. It is perfect for backyard trellis planting, garden frame cultivation and large deep flower pots on balconies.
