Description
Storm Martin Incense (scientific name: Syringa reticulata (Blume) H. Hara var. amurensis (Rupr.) J. S. Pringle): Shrubs or small trees, up to 10 meters high in late spring and early summer, with luxuriant flowers and leaves. Leaf blade ovate-lanceolate or ovate, entire. The panicle is large and sparse, the inflorescence is large, 20-25 cm long, densely pressed branches, the corolla is white or yellowish white, the tube is short, and fragrant. The capsules are rectangular, smooth or have warty protrusions. Flowering period is from May to June, fruit period is September.
Growing hillside shrubs or forest edges, grasslands, ditch edges, or coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests, with an altitude of 10-1200 meters. This species is light-loving, and can tolerate shade, cold, drought, and barrenness. It is mainly produced in Northeast, Northwest, North China and other places, and is distributed in North Korea, Japan, and Russia. Cultivation is mostly used for sowing and propagation, and large trees need to be transplanted with soil balls. In the nursery, pruning can be cultivated into small trees.
