Description
Teak (scientific name: Tectona grandis L.F.), also known as annatto, purple teak, blood tree, etc., is a large deciduous or semi-deciduous tree with a height of 40-50 meters and a diameter of 2-2.5 meters at breast height, with straight stems. The bark is brown or gray, the branches are four-sided, with stellate hairs. The leaves are opposite, very large, ovate or elliptical, and densely covered with gray-yellow stellate hairs on the back. The panicles are broad, blooming in autumn, and the flowers are white and fragrant. Teak is a tropical tree species that requires higher temperatures, and its vertical distribution is more common in low hills and plains below 700-800 meters above sea level. It can be used as medicine, and it is also a material for manufacturing high-end furniture floors and indoor and outdoor decorations. Teak is known as the national treasure of Myanmar, so the price is quite expensive.
